Notable Players to Watch
The Honda LPGA Thailand tournament brings in a lot of local talent to the tournament to compete against some of the world’s best players. We are going to highlight some of the players to watch this week.
Lydia Ko
Lydia took some extended time off in the off-season to celebrate her marriage and enjoy her honeymoon. So we missed her at the Hilton Grand TOC the first LPGA Tour event of the season. However, she did play in a Ladies European Tour event at Aramco Saudi Ladies International which of course she won! The current #1 player in the world is proving once again that she is the one to beat. She is looking to copy her season from last year where she went on to win LPGA Tour Championship and stay at world #1.
Atthaya Thitikul
Atthaya Thitikul had a very strong 2022 campaign and she saw herself move all the way up to #4 in the Rolex Women’s world golf rankings. She also finished #5 in the LPGA CME Global Rankings last year. She has been our preseason pick to have a great 2023 and this being a home game for her we marked her as a notable player to watch at the LPGA Thailand.
Minjee Lee
Minjee Lee is one of the most entertaining players on the LPGA Tour and she had a stellar 2022 season. She does not look like she is going to be stopped and could see herself in the talks for world #1 this year. Minjee Lee is one to watch this week.
